Foundation Holds 6th Annual
Tom Manatt Memorial
Sporting Clays Tournament
For the second year in a row nearly 100 shooters were treated to beautiful May weather and plenty of camaraderie on May 9 th for the Foundation’s sixth sporting clays fundraising tournament. The tournament is in memory of Tom Manatt. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and devoted participant in the AGC of Iowa Foundation Sporting Clays Tournament.
The fun was non-stop for the 19 five-person teams who tested their skills on the difficult Steelclay Shooting Sports course in Eddyville. The tournament was a winner for the Foundation too with over $7000 in proceeds that will help support scholarship programs, as well as coordinating workforce development and educational initiatives in partnership with AGC of Iowa. Individual high score honors went to Craig Hughes with 95 out of 100 clays broken. This year’s first place team honors went to Willie Calderwood, Matt Proctor, Craig Hughes, Jared Hughes, and Patrick Moore with a team score of 427 out of 500. In a tie for second place were the teams of Mark Deetz, Greg Palmer, Dave Suchorski, and Roger Thompkins and Kim Triggs, Dave Peck, Dennis Bigelow, Dale Stockdale, and Dennis Vaudt. The third place team consisted of Al Ites, Tanner McCully, Jason Noel, Dan Abramovich, and Craig Harmon.
